I-79 North

03/29/2010

National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) presented Lindy Paving, Inc. the 2009 Sheldon G. Hayes Award for excellence in construction of an asphalt pavement on January 20, 2010 at the Association’s 55th Annual Meeting in Maui, Hawaii. The honor was awarded for the reconstruction of 6.6 miles of the northbound and southbound lanes of I-79 north of Pittsburgh. This is the second year in a row and third time that Lindy Paving Inc. has received NAPA’s highest honor for a quality pavement.

Lindy Paving transformed the roughest section of interstate remaining in Pennsylvania into a road that won praise from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) as the smoothest stretch of highway in the state. The Sheldon G. Hayes Award winner is determined through a two-year process. The top-ranked projects are tested for smoothness, and then visually inspected by an independent pavement consultant with many years of experience in the industry.

Headquartered in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Lindy Paving is widely recognized as one of the largest and most successful asphalt paving contractors and manufacturers in Western Pennsylvania. A member of the PJ Dick-Trumbull-Lindy family of companies, Lindy Paving, Inc. is consistently delivering award-winning asphalt paving and quality product manufacturing.
