PJ Dick projects named on Business Times' "Largest region LEED certified projects " list
Eight PJ Dick projects were named in the top 25 "Largest LEED Certified Projects" in our region.
1. David L. Lawrence Convention Center
(No. 1 on the list)
This project included two exhibit halls, 49 private meeting rooms, a 40,000 SF ballroom, retail shops and restaurants.
2. Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC
(No. 3 on the list)
The 9-story Clinical Services Building features 302-licensed beds, including 79 critical care beds, a 41-bed Emergency Room and Trauma Center and 13 Operating Suites. Other features include a 36-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a 12-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and a 31-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
3. CONSOL Energy Center

The 18,300-seat arena features a brightly lit glass atrium along the Washington Place side of the building allowing patrons to view the city skyscape of downtown Pittsburgh. Highlights include a concession concourse with open viewing to playing surface, private lounges and suites, premium seating, premium sight lines and a retail corridor.
4. Three PNC Plaza
(No. 10 on the list)
PJ Dick provided Construction Management at Risk services for construction of this new 25-story, 780,000 gross SF mixed-use building in the center of downtown Pittsburgh. The structural steel framed building features a street level skin of elegant granite, 22-foot high, with a sleek glass and aluminum curtain wall above a three level cast-concrete garage below. This project includes 360,000 SF of office space, an “upscale” hotel with 180 rooms, 30 residential condominiums with hotel services available, and a 295-car underground parking garage.
5. Bakery Square
(No. 15 on the list)
Bakery Square, converted from an abandoned Nabisco Bakery, features 216,000 SF of office space and 135,000 SF of retail space. The project also features a 41,000 SF fitness facility, a 110-room Marriott SpringHill Suites hotel, a 992-car parking garage, and 99 surface-level parking spots.
6. Carnegie Mellon University Gates and Hillman Centers
(No. 18 on the list)
The Computer Science Complex includes 318 offices in addition to state-of-the art laboratories, lecture halls, classrooms, and a 250-seat auditorium.
7. UPMC Passavant Pavilion Addition
(No. 22 on the list)
This 88-bed Tower Addition consists of a flagship Cancer Center utilizing the latest in patient treatment and care for both radiation and medical oncology, an emergency department expansion, surgery expansion for inpatient and outpatient surgery, PACU, an ICU and 3 floors of med/surg beds.
8. Fairmont PIttsburgh Hotel
(No. 23 on the list)
The 180-room hotel features a fitness center and spa that can be shared by the office space and the condominiums, a 6,300 SF ballroom with dining facilities, separate entrances for the hotel, offices and condominiums, and a restaurant and coffee shop accessible to the public and building occupants.
